Amy and Obi - Wonderdog & Dramatic Skies
This was a fantastic shoot. We went to local hotspot, the stunning Wind Farm in Albany, WA. The day was a stunning day, as the winter seems to want to continue to bleed into spring, nice days are still few and far between! I woke up so excited about the sunshine. All day, it was sunny and warm and the clouds were both puffy and whispy, making for such an awesome sky.
However, come time for the shoot, it was overcast and dim! I was pretty upset at the time. I thought the day looked like it was promising a spectacular sunset.
Oh well, the diffused light meant colours from the images were beautifully contrast.
This boy is not just the most visually stunning dog, he is also super smart. Showing off his tricks and keeping us giggling throughout the shoot with his many faces. We did some action shots, some trick images and some really stunning portraits of just Obi and some absolutely gorgeous images of Amy with Obi.
I asked Amy if she could provide me some information about Obi and this is her response:
“I had been looking for a puppy to join our family for a while and was very interested in Koolies. There were no suitable registered breeders in WA at the time we were looking so we started searching Australia wide.
Obi came from a breeder in South Australia and flew over to join our family in 2018. I remember going to the airport to collect him and being able to hear him barking from miles away. Not much has changed! He always has lots to say! He has fitted in perfectly with big sister Kia and brings a lot of joy to our lives everyday.
Obi loves to learn and we do lots of training together. We also compete in dog sports. These include agility, rally, tricks, scentwork, dances with dogs and lure coursing. Agility and Scentwork are our favourite!
He also loves going on adventures. We often go exploring in the beautiful outdoors.
Here in Albany we have amazing beaches, hiking coastal and bush trials and often paddle boarding on local waterways. He loves it all!
Obi make us laugh everyday. Doing zoomies around the house, sleeping on the outside table and climbing into places he shouldn't be. He can often be found upside down sleeping in the strangest positions and absolutely loves to cuddle. His favourite spot is as close as he can get and with his head resting on me.
Obi also has epilepsy. This came as a shock to us when he was diagnosed in November 2019. While this is challenging at times , we don't let it stop us doing things. Obi doesn't let anything get him down and is such a happy boy in general. I think we could all take a leaf out of his book and enjoying everything life has to offer."
This clever boy will have another photoshoot, so keep your eyes on our social media in the future to see more of Obi.
